Seven Months Old!
Amidst all of these new baby hullabaloo, I nearly forgot to mention that Eamon is now seven months old! In fact, E and Jack are exactly 7 months apart, as they were both born on the 17th. Must be a lucky number!
He's growing like crazy and continues to be so much fun. I wrote all about what he's up to on his baby blog.

Jack's Homecoming
Jack came home from the hospital today. And of course, Eamon and I just had to be there to welcome him. Poor guy probably didn't know what hit him: Between Sam and Eamon's squeals and all of these loud adults, he was probably wishing he was still back in the womb!
Despite that, he remains a dear little boy who hardly makes a peep. And clearly, he is extremely loved: Sam greeted him with a very cute "WOW" (one of his new words) and is already demonstrating signs of a doting older brother!
And speaking of doting, I must say that all three boys have amazing grandparents in my mom and dad! They've been working tirelessly since arriving on Monday night to see that all of our needs (that's the babies and the big kids!) are met. Mark and I were able to go out after work two times this week, and, after being with them, Eamon has slept longer and better than ever! Must be the grandparent's magical touch.

The Smith's--and more pics of Jack
Sam met his little brother for the first time on Wednesday night, and I just happened to be there to document it with my camera. He was, for the most part, very happy to welcome Jack to his wild and crazy world (and probably even more excited to see his parents!). The visit was brief, but such a meaningful moment for the entire fam!
Later on, I finally got to hold the very tiny Jack (didn't want to put him down!)...amazing how I've totally forgotten Eamon ever being so small (but then again, he wasn't really...but you know what I mean!).
We kmew it would only be a matter of time..
What a difference two months make! Now that Eamon is no longer the littlest guy on the block, he's suddenly appearing slightly cooler in Sam's eyes. Either that, or Sam's finally paying more attention to him because he's a bit more mobile (and a lot more vocal). This week, they've had plenty of bonding time; sharing toys and having chats via grunts and squeals. It's too cute.

Welcome, Jack Everett Smith!
The latest addition to our family, Jack Everett Smith, arrived on March 17, 2009 at 9:37 a.m. He is a healthy, adorable bundle, weighing in at 7.5 lbs and 20 inches long. Mom is doing just fine, as is Dad and big bro Sam (who is going to meet the little guy today for the first time).
So far, seems like Jack's going to take after Speed--similar nose and mouth, at least. He also has at least one dimple--like Leezie!
Here are just a few of many shots I took yesterday. I'll post more after my visit this evening.

Little Swimmer
Eamon had his second swimming lesson on Sunday, and this time, I got to take him in the pool. He kicked and and splashed and didn't make a peep despite the rather chilly water. Doesn't seem to like to be on his back all that much, but that's OK--I wasn't a fan of backstroke, either. :-)

Congrats, Bec!
Congrats to Bec, the most successful distance runner in Mount's history! She sealed her place in the athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday night at a lovely ceremony in E-burg. Bec was honored among four other men who represented the track, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams. They all had great stories and accolades, but hers were the most impressive by far. And, as one of the guys said, she has certainly "kept her form" since college!
We drove down for the occasion and really enjoyed being back at the Mount and staying the night at the Farm. Also good to see some old, familiar faces at the ceremony.

A luncheon for Leezie
Hard to believe that the next baby in our family will be here in ONE week! To honor the mom-of-two-to-be, we hosted a little luncheon on Sunday. On the menu: tea sandwiches (chicken salad and cucumber/goat cheese/watercress), spinach salad with mushrooms, mandarin oranges, fruit kabobs, spinach dip, and cupcakes (thanks to Sissy for her spring ideas).
Leezie looked GREAT in her swirly-patternered dress and bump. She is still very tiny everywhere except her belly. Even though their not certain whether the little one's a boy or girl, I'm convinced it's the former and even bought blue (and brown) outfits for him. I'm so trained to look for boy stuff that pink things don't even register on my radar screen!
The 'rents came up for the occasion, and, as always, it was great to spend time with them! And they still claim to love Jersey, even though they had to walk through the faux St. Patty's day madness to get back to their hotel!
