Last Day at Little Gym

For the past few months, I've been taking Eamon to a Little Gym class. It's one of the highlights of the week as he adores the teacher, the balls, the bubbles, the songs, the running around...I've enjoyed watching him conquer new skills and learn the routines and really open up to all of the other kids and parents in the class.

Today was his last day as a "Bird"--he has officially graduated from the baby class and will now attend "Beast" as a toddler. Sniff sniff.

Here are some pics of him in the class today. I think his smiles say it all!

Caught ya!

As I've said numerous times, it's really hard for me to take any decent pictures of our little Energizer Bunny (which is why I'm shopping for a new camera, but that's another story...). But today, I snuck up on him during a quiet moment on our bed and took these shots. I love the eyebrows-raised "are you done yet?" expression of the first pic.

Bubby

Eamon is in love...with his yellow blankie. He has been attached to it for a while now, but lately he literally jumps and shouts in glee whenever he spots his beloved "BUBBBBBBBEEEEEE".

I thought this picture told this tale quite well: Even though it appears Eamon is cuddling up to me, he's actually snuggling with Bubby. God forbid we ever lose this thing!

Just posted some new pics and a quick update on E's world on his baby blog. He's now 17 months! Crazy.

And speaking of Keren, I stole two of these pictures from her...just thought they were cute. (Thanks, K!). Except I am in need of some serious color on my face--winter, argh!

Bon Voyage, Keren!

One of my dearest friends departed NYC for the west coast the other day. Keren and I met way back during our days at National Geographic and have carried our friendship up to New York (and, uh, Hoboken for me). I'm so sad to see her go. Most of all I will miss her constant support, her amazing creative talent, her funny stories and her uncanny ability to get anything she wants! I know these qualities will make her shine in San Francisco, and I can't wait to see what awaits her in this next big chapter in her life.
Good luck, Keren. And see you soon!

A walk in someone else's shoes...

Eamon's recently discovered the joys of walking around in our shoes. It's so cute, because he's very serious and careful about this task--as though it's perfectly normal to be taking laps around the apartment in size 12 Nikes! Here he is this morning.

As I mentioned before, it's pretty difficult to get a good shot of Eamon these days. He's just too fast--and my camera is just too slow. I need one of those rapid-fire shooting settings that photographers use for sporting events! But here are a couple recent (and decent!) pictures of the little guy. Compared to those pictures I posted the other day at 12 months, he looks like a five-year-old! He's growing SO fast--I'm buying 2T clothes for him now (he's not even 17 months).

Cousins in NYC

Ian and Abigail graced us with their presence over the weekend. They were here to visit friends and see the sights--too bad they didn't bring some warm weather with them! Resident New Yorker Anna and her roommate met up with us, and we all went out for some drinks and Jets-watching at a midtown bar, then took a quick (cold) walk into Times Square. Was wonderful to see everyone; wish we could do it more often!

In a better late than never move, I wanted to share some photos taken of Eamon right around his first birthday. My brilliantly talented sister Ula took them and I love looking at each shot--she has such a way of capturing these sweet moments and expressions that, with a 13-month-old, are literally gone in an instant.

I didn't post these right away because I wanted to save them for our Christmas card. But now that the holidays are over, here are some of my favorites (I love them all; if you want to see more, let me know!). Eamon has grown up so much since this day--he now has so much more hair, many more teeth, and he's lost some of that baby pudge in his face.

I'll try to get some updated photos of Eamon on here soon. He moves so fast these days that I can't get a decent shot of him! In the meantime, enjoy this little jaunt down memory lane.
